What is VibraCool Extended used for?
VibraCool Extended is used for runner's knee, IT band syndrome, ACL pain, meniscal injury, patellofemoral pain, knee and ankle sprains, hamstring and calf injuries, and post-surgery knee and ankle recovery. It can also be applied to the back of the neck for tension headache relief.
Is VibraCool better than a TENS machine for knee pain?
Yes. In an independent clinical trial VibraCool reduced physical therapy pain 240 to 340 percent better than TENS. Unlike TENS which uses electrical stimulation, VibraCool uses mechanical vibration and cold, making it safe for people with pacemakers and more effective for injury and post-surgical pain.
How does VibraCool Extended work?
It combines high-frequency M-Stim vibration with freeze-solid ice therapy. The vibration and cold stimulate nerves faster than pain signals can travel, activating Gate Control Theory to block pain before it reaches the brain. It also increases blood flow to speed up recovery.
Can VibraCool Extended be used after knee surgery?
Yes. VibraCool is FDA 510(k) cleared for post-operative pain relief. An independent pilot study found patients using VibraCool after ACL reconstruction used 35 percent fewer opioid tablets in the first week following surgery.
Is VibraCool safe with a pacemaker?
Yes. VibraCool uses mechanical vibration not electrical stimulation, so it is safe for people with pacemakers. This is a key difference from TENS machines.
