What is VibraCool Flex used for?
Shoulder pain, rotator cuff pain, neck pain and stiffness, hip pain, trapezius tension, upper back pain, and acute lower back muscle pain.
What makes Flex different from the other VibraCool models?
It is the only VibraCool model that includes both an ice pack and a heat pack. Use cold for acute pain and inflammation. Use heat for chronic muscle spasm and stiffness. The 48-inch band also covers larger body areas like the shoulder, hip, and back that the smaller models cannot reach.
Is VibraCool better than a TENS machine?
In an independent clinical trial, VibraCool was 4x more effective than TENS for back and shoulder pain, and 240–340% more effective overall for musculoskeletal pain. Unlike TENS, it uses mechanical vibration rather than electrical stimulation, making it safe for people with pacemakers.
Can I use it after shoulder surgery?
Yes. An independent study found that five minutes of daily vibration after rotator cuff surgery provided significant pain relief at six weeks. VibraCool is FDA 510(k) cleared for post-operative pain relief.
Can it help with lower back pain?
Yes, for muscle-related lower back pain. An NIH-funded study reduced acute low back pain by 57%. However, VibraCool Flex is not suitable for back pain caused by disc problems, nerve injury, or spinal conditions. If you are unsure, check with your physio or GP first.
Is it safe with a pacemaker?
Yes. VibraCool uses mechanical vibration, not electrical stimulation. This is a key difference from TENS machines, which use electrical current and are not safe for pacemaker users.
How does it attach to the body?
The 48-inch band wraps around the affected area and the neoprene pocket holds the vibration unit in place against your skin. For hip or lower back use, you can also thread a firm 2-inch belt through the pocket for extra support.
